CREMA VALLE – Cuba

ROCK: Microcrystalline fossiliferous limestone with calcite stalks and styllolites

COLOUR: Cream with different shades from yellow to beige , the shades and the differences between sections in the same variety are determined by the calcite stalks , the type and quantity of fossil and the distribuction of styllolites and its filler. (calcite mno)

CHARACTER AND ORNAMENTAL USE: Tones and different features in the same variety have allowed a classification by tones.

  • Tone a: Cream or dark cream with numerous stalks of carmel colour and with styllolites of black or purple colour that are parallel and vertical.
  • Tone b: Clear cream, crossed in different directions by many calcit armel and yellow stalkes .
  • Tone c: Similar to tone b, some clearer and fossils with round shape appear.

The mass is more yellowish and the brilliant is excellent. see this paragraph as it’s not regarding ornamental use.
